  • ·      Researched under the guidance of a mentor on “malicious task detection” specific to crowdsourcing platforms.
  • ·      Built a search engine to find malicious tasks working with a ground truth dataset of approximately 32000 tasks.
  • ·     Provided analytics and statistics regarding the various queries and tasks. Analytics included trends in types of tasks, severity of each malicious task etc.

Intern | Symantec Corporation | Draper, UT (Related Skills: C++; Java; Perforce; Python)



  • ·      Worked on product called “Management Center” (MC) used to collect statistics, deploy policies/run maintenance and manage various Symantec Corporation physical devices (such as the ProxySG) and virtual devices (such as Reporter).
  • ·      Fixed pre-existing and added new scripts to set up the default development environment for the team, reducing setup time from 3-4 hours to approximately 45 minutes by automatizing installation of required packages on a CentOS based system, creating the necessary directories, and creating the required files and editing pre-existing ones to set up the version control tools using bash scripts.
  • ·      Created documentation that walks new hires through the steps they need to perform to have a working instance of the product in debug mode.
  • ·      Worked with the team to fix bugs in the product related to security leaks, UI messages etc.
  • ·      Added minor features such as new messages that explain errors in detail etc.
  • ·      Worked on the Command Line Interface for Management Center, identifying and fixing bugs, and finding and removing dead code.
  • ·      Worked toward generating log files to help in dev testing of product.
